He has some great tips for anyone who needs inspiration for new sunglasses for spring/summer 2011:

“IN THE FRAME”

No longer purely functional, sunglasses are a bona fide fashion accessory. We got the lowdown on the brands and styles to look for from Sunglass Hut Director of buying Stewart Waltron.

Colour is a big trend this season. Will we see it in Sunglasses, too?Yes, colour aswell as pattern. D&G has some cute and playful vichy checked styles from it’s “Garden Party” collection. Floral prints are also big this year.

Which new brands are you excited about?We are really excited about what’s happening with Miu Miu sunglasses at the moment. The new range is full of items that are going to be snapped up by fashionistas. We think it’s going to be huge for 2012!

What classic style do you find yourself returning to?I’m a Ray-Ban aviator nut - everyone should own at least one pair. Any style that can still be number one in the world today, while remaining essentially unchanged since the 30’s, is the definition of classic.

Do you have any guidelines for choosing the perfect shape?The most basic rule of thumb I can give is this: choose a pair that is a different shape to your face. So if you have a round face, choose something squared or more angular. If you have square or chiselled features, something a little more rounded will soften your appearance. Remember though, rules are made of be broken, so if it looks good, do it!

Yesterday I was fortunate to receive a gift wrapped box at work containing this pair of Burberry Sunglasses (promise to show soon!) and a Cisco FLIP - a mini cam-recorder. An envelope contained my invitation to Inner Circle - a fashion web stop curated by Sunglass Hut where only the hottest and most up to date fashion blogs are featured for all your fashion needs!

Today I tested out the FLIP. Amazing quality. It looks like a small mobile phone. I just spent a couple of mins playing around with some editing tools. Can’t wait to make some more.

This is me wearing my new sunglasses given to me by Oakley Australia. The style is called “Beckon” are from the Uniquely Oakley women’s range.

I am particularly excited by this style as it is a perfect transition from function to fashion in this classic oversize fashion shape, yet has all the features a performance Oakley has to offer.

”Beckon” has Plutonite lenses that are not only the most pure of polycarbonate plastics for clarity but also feature 100% protection against UVA/UVB/UVC light. It’s optical and impact resistant. Lightweight as anything with a 3 point fit for correct optical alignment. They are also prescription ready and available in Polarised!
